I recently came across a rather unsettling video on youtube. Apparently, people are getting scammed into buying low quality, fake sound systems. The way it works is a team of scammers will attempt to catch your attention and call you over to their vehicle, and then tell you that they are delivery personnel/ installers or something of the sort, and that they have an unaccounted for surplus that they need to get rid of before they have to take it back to their warehouse and give to their boss. They will show you equipment, which looks very official and has a ridiculously high price, and then will offer it to you for a “bargain”, anywhere from $200 to $1,000. Everything will look official; they will have business cards and shipping invoices and everything to make it look real. They will also try to keep reminding you of what a great deal you are getting. Under no circumstances should you buy these sound systems. They are cheap knockoffs that are barely worth what they’re made of. Victims get home to set up their new home sound system, and discover that the cables are of a poor quality and break, or that the speakers are made of a cheap plastic and that the actual wattage is nowhere near what was advertised on the box. Hello all, my name is Matt and I am an audiophile. I love sound and I really love home sound systems. They can range everywhere from a simple stereo system to a massive whole-house system that costs thousands of dollars. Once upon a time, finding a sound system was a relatively simple task, and to be honest, slightly boring, seeing as how there were so few options. These days, however, a person can choose between a single unit with a CD/tape player and other features, or they can opt for a home music server that stores music digitally and can play audio in all the different rooms in their home.

Home sound systems have also grown to include the home theater market. Gone are the days when people only used the speakers on their TV to listen to their movies or shows. Now people have full surround sound setups that can sometimes rival that of a movie theater.

Sound has also moved to a front that was unheard of 15 years ago; the area of gaming, both on consoles and computers. People want to play their games in the most lifelike way possible, so the advancement of surround sound technology has flooded the gaming market, with home sound systems filling this need.

I’m the sort of person who loves to listen to things, anything from music, to movies, to games. I like it all, and I want my listening experience to be the best it can possibly be.
